Local Covid Wedding | Madi & Linden

To some, they may look back to 2020 and think back to a year of letdowns. I don’t like to think of it that way. I like to think of it as a year of reflection, and pursuing creativity in a time of challenge.

That’s exactly what this wedding was. Madi, the bride, is a beautiful, bright, and bubbly person who is absolutely magnetic and has radiant energy. She’s the type of girl that walks into a room and everyone is instantly happier. Regardless of being faced with the biggest challenge that has hit the wedding industry, probably ever…Covid…she led the day with positivity. Makes, sense, she is a cheerleader!

While Madi and her husband Linden had to change their mindset on what their wedding day would be, the result was nothing short of beautiful. I’ve photographed this couple multiple times throughout their relationship and it was such a pleasure to be included on their most special day of all.

Madi and Linden chose to have their ceremony at Canyon Ski Resort. Canyon is a local gem, on the outskirts of Red Deer City limits with lush trees and a landscape with endless possibilities for photographers. For us Red Deer locals, it also hits you with a wave of childhood nostalgia every time you go there. My favourite part of the ceremony at Canyon was capturing Linden’s reaction to Madi walking down the aisle. Just the SWEETEST!

I loved photographing this happy group. Madi and her two sisters, and some of her closest friends, were all she needed on that perfect day. You could tell there was so much love and excitement — regardless of it being a small group — and that shows in the photos. That’s what I’m loving about the Covid weddings, you see the true happiness and love shine through, there isn’t a chance for it to get lost in a crowd!

Madi chose to enhance the day with blush decor and florals (and lots of them) from local shop Floral Expressions. Madi chose to work with Promise by Price as her day-of coordinator, and the day went flawlessly. So did the evening, thanks to Salute Mobile bar, slinging drinks all night to the group.

The night was spent in Madis parents backyard in a picture-perfect white tent.
