Intimate Fall Wedding | Alyssa & Adam

This longtime friend of mine has always dreamt of an intimate prairie fall wedding hosted on her family’s land. Pandemic or no pandemic…that’s exactly what she got.

Not only is she naturally one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen…Alyssa also has exquisite taste. Her wedding day was no exception. With a small guest list, Alyssa got to pour her attention and budget into some of the finer details of the day and the end result was a magazine-worthy wedding (but seriously…it was published in Blush Magazine https://blushmagazine.ca/featured-wedding/covid-era-white-tent-wedding/

Alyssa and Adam grew up in Red Deer (they even lived close by when they were younger), and always knew “of” each other. They were officially introduced as adults and well, after their first date, they both knew it was game over. Adam didn’t even kiss her because he was so nervous…a story that came up in both of their personally-written vows. As soon as Alyssa met Adam, all of our friends could tell she had found the one. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he’s strikingly handsome and plays music.

The ceremony took place on an open stretch of land behind Alyssa’s grandfather’s house. The area was framed with trees, creating the perfect natural aisle. Alyssa chose to walk to a song Adam wrote for her at the beginning of their relationship — and that moment made everyone smile and/or cry. That’s the great thing about intimate weddings, everyone there is extremely close to the bride and groom, and to one another. There were many heartfelt moments that hit EVERYONE in the feels!

Come reception time, the work Alyssa had put into planning the day really shone through. In front of the house and down a slight hill stood the white reception tent, ready for a (socially distanced) party! Her wedding designer and helpful panner, also a good friend of hers, was Brooke of March Designs The palette was perfect for a stylish fall wedding, and every touch of stationary and pop of colour was perfection. It was a photographer’s dream.

Inside the tent were twinkle lights for days, and a perfectly coordinated and styled table setting that you look at and go “which fork do I use…?”. I absolutely loved the personalized name cards, not only did they photograph great, it’s a special little touch like this that makes your guests feel fancy and appreciated!

It was a beautiful night, the weather cooperated, and everyone enjoyed admiring the lovestruck groom and bride from a social distance.
