Canoe Engagement Session | Cory & Lauren

I’ve known these love birds since we were young kids. I met Lauren in middle school where we both attended Camille Jr high. We later on met Cory in High school. Cory and Lauren began their relationship shortly after we graduated. 10 years later and they are engaged and looking forward to their fall wedding! Their wedding is planned for early this October at the Innisfail Golf Club. I am very much looking forward to capturing their special day!

When they reached out to me to do their wedding and book an engagement session, I immediately knew I needed a special idea for these two. We had originally planned on going to the mountains for their session but with the unpredictable Alberta weather we decided it was best to stay close to home and not have to drive 2 hours with the possibility of a storm! The weather was in our favor that night at Sylvan Lake and we were able to create some beautiful images.

We met at one of their family friends cabin and of course, had to have a beers at first to help them relax. I normally recommend my couples to have one or two beverages before their session. Its a great way to break the ice and help everyone ease into their session. They of course brought their two fur babies to the session. Tango and Thai ran around the yard like the crazy dogs they are. They played in the water while we took pictures, and even joined in on a few.

I was so excited to incorporate the Canoe into their engagement session! It was the perfect prop and made for many laughs and splashes! Im looking forward to their upcoming fall wedding! Cory and Lauren are a perfect couple who i wish a lifetime of happiness and love.
